Most horrible, unprofessional company ever!


I had my Hughesnet service disconnected about a month ago. When I called to disconnect, I asked what I would need to send back (equipment that I leased); I specifically asked about the actual satellite, and I was told that ONLY the modem would have to be sent back.I then went to the place that I had rented and got the modem so that I could send it back. I had to remove and get rid of the satellite because this was a rental property so I could not leave anything there that I had installed and I got rid of it because seriously, why would I need a satellite that is not being used? When I received the box from Hughesnet, there was a paper included that tells you what you will need to send back and it listed a radio transmitter along with the modem. Remember, this is after I talked to customer service and asked them specifically about the satellite. The paper informed me that if I didn't send back all of these items, I would be charged for them. Immediately I called Hughesnet and told them what customer service had told me a month earlier. They insisted that I was aware of everything that I had to send back. I kept telling them that this was their mistake, not mine. I was NOT informed of this. I ended up talking to 2 different people on the phone and they would not help me at all! When I asked to speak with someone else, they refused, claiming that I would get the same result from anyone else at their company. So now, with mis-information that their company provided during my first phone conversation with them, I will have to end up paying. I just want to warn people that this is the way that Hughesnet conducts business. It's ridiculous, unfair to customers, and I have no idea how a company like this stays in business. I will NEVER use Hughesnet again!!!!
